This self-study course has been designed to give you foundation knowledge of habitat management in the UK, so if you are considering working in the conservation/reserve management sector this course will be an ideal starting point. Course format: These 6 self-study modules will be available to read through in your own time. To further enhance your knowledge and learning experience there will be some directed reading at the end of each module, as well as some quiz questions so that you can test yourself. At the end there will be a short quiz which, if you get over 70%, you will be issued with a certificate of attendance.

Time commitment: The 6 self-study modules and we advise students to allow 2-4 hours per module to complete each module and to read around the subject.

Learning outcomes: By the end of the course you will: Have an awareness of reasons for habitat management, understand the need for site surveying and data collection prior to management, background information on preparing a management plan, an understanding of management prescriptions for grasslands and woodlands; as well as for dormice, barn owls and great crested newts. You will gain a wider knowledge on the subject that will help equip you for jobs in the conservation and ecology sectors.
