We are searching for a confident, proactive ecologist with a desire to learn to join our 40+ strong ecology team, supporting us in meeting the highest standards expected by our clients. As the main focus of your role, you will support us with a wide-range of surveys and ecological impact assessments and implementing ecological mitigation and enhancement measures. With presence in 13 offices, we  deliver projects throughout the UK, using our regional expertise and strong relationships across the national ecology team to further strengthen our reputation. As a multidisciplinary business, our ecologists are well integrated with other disciplines, working closely with planners, transport planners, engineers, project managers, landscape architects and archaeologists (to name but a few). Our projects involve delivering work across all sectors including defence, energy, residential, infrastructure and regeneration schemes. You will use the support of our ecologists combined with exposure to other disciplines and sectors to develop your skills in ecological consultancy.

About You

You will be supported by a large team of expert ecologists who will provide training and guidance to ensure you are completing ecological surveys and mitigation to our high standards and in line with published methodologies. We are therefore looking for ecologists who are positive, driven and eager to learn in order to develop their career within the ecology consultancy sector.

You will also have;

A relevant degree as a minimum is required, as is a full driving licence, plus good ICT skills including MS Word and Excel.
An eye-for-detail, GIS capability and/or previous experience of surveying and mitigation will be an advantage.
A working knowledge of relevant Scottish, UK and European legislation, policy and guidance is essential as are project management capabilities, communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
You will be required to produce Health and Safety risk assessments and method statements and maintain records.
Your enthusiastic, flexible approach will equip you to support our rapidly expanding ecology team in line with the varied projects we work on.
