The Role:

Our positive reputation in the Water Industry has seen our Water Team win a large quantity of environment-related frameworks for water companies across England and Wales. Therefore, we are seeking to appoint an Environmental Appraisal Water Resources Specialist at either Senior or Principal level.

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Consultant who has a strong understanding of the links between Hydrology, Ecology and Water Resource Planning. You will direct and provide technical input into a wide range of Water Resource Management and Drought Management Environmental Assessments and Risk Analysis. You will work effectively with water companies, regulators, planners, developers, design engineers and contractors to achieve positive outcomes for Water Resource strategies and scheme developments. You will interpret models, review and analyse statistical trends and provide technical input into proposals. Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues will also be a part of your role.

About you:

You will have experience working within a Water Consultancy and working directly with UK water companies. An understanding of UK Water Policy and legislation, Water Resources Management and how the Water Framework Directive is integral to/embedded with Environmental Assessments is also required.

You will understand, technically, how Environmental Appraisals support best environmental and customer outcomes and related water resources planning outcomes and will be able to identify risks and opportunities. You will also have experience of leading, technically, on complex Environmental Appraisal Water Resource projects and will have regulatory and stakeholder management experience.

You will have a degree in a relevant environmentally based subject. Learning and Development of our employees is important to us, therefore we offer all employees a personal Learning and Development plan, this includes supporting you work toward or maintaining chartered status or membership to a relevant professional body.

You will have a clean driving license and excellent team working and communication skills, plus the ability to manage and prioritise workload.
