The Role
This role of Senior Ecologist will report to the Managing Director and will manage a variety of projects and a small team of graduates on surveys and producing high-quality reports to support planning applications Key responsibilities include;
* Leading protected species surveys
* Reviewing the work of others
* Assisting or completing independently European Protected Species licenses
* Managing projects and junior staff
The Requirements
Essential:
* BSc In Ecology or conservation based degree
* Protected species licenses for at least two species and ideally bats
* Experience producing reports for protected species surveys and Phase 1 habitat surveys for large development sites
* Experience working within a team of ecologists, ideally with experience managing others.
* Driving License
Desirable:
* Experience producing EPS licenses, particularly for bats
* Experience acting as a technical lead for bats, great crested newts or dormice
* Post-graduate qualifications in ecology or conservation
The successful candidate will be expected to work long hours during the peak survey season between April and September, but will receive additional holiday leave as remuneration. Company dividends given to successful applicant will pay 4 times a year and Mileage is paid at £0.45 per mile, but a company vehicle can be provided if required.
