Key to our future plans is the growth of our teams across the UK and currently, we are seeking a Senior Ecologist to join us in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, ambitious team that will provide you with plenty of scope for career progression in the coming years.

As a Senior Ecologist, you would work amongst multi-disciplinary teams, all with the same client-centric approach. You would work on an exciting and diverse range of projects across the Land Development and Infrastructure markets. Day to day tasks would include management of small-medium sized projects, including coordinating and managing the delivery of field-work to good practice standards, to support client advice, assessment and reporting.

About You

Primarily, we are looking for someone who has a passion for delivering effective solutions to our clients and a desire to work with the Ecology Leadership Team to deliver solutions for clients and grow the business. You will be a Degree qualified in Ecology, Conservation, Earth Sciences or a related topic and a member of CIEEM ideally having achieved or working towards full membership and Chartered Ecologist.

You will also have the following: –

  • Proven experience within a professional ecological consultancy.
  • Experience of management of complex ecological issues within a project context.
  • In depth knowledge of relevant legislation and policy.
  • A wide understanding of terrestrial ecological issues and preferably holder of at least one protected species licence, or with a specialism in one particular area.
  • Demonstrable skills and experience of assessments, including, PEA, EcIA, Ecology Chapters of Environmental Statements and HRA.
  • Ideally, working knowledge of UKHab classification and the Defra Metric.
  • Experience of compiling fee proposals and project budgets.
