About The Role

We’re actively seeking a Seasonal Ecologist to join our rapidly growing team and play a pivotal role in expanding our terrestrial ecology services across the north west of England. By joining our team, you’ll be working alongside a diverse group of experts in both terrestrial and aquatic sciences. Our projects span the UK and encompass a wide spectrum, including collaborations with environmental and conservation agencies, water and energy industries, and various supporting services. Here, you’ll not only specialise in terrestrial ecology but also have the chance to collaborate with professionals in fisheries science, hydrology, hydro/geomorphology, and water quality sectors. Please note that this role is a fixed term 6 month seasonal position.As a key member of our team, you’ll closely collaborate with our experienced team, delivering excellent ecological services to our clients. Your role will revolve around conducting terrestrial ecology site work and providing valuable support in the creation of comprehensive reports through data processing, analysis, and interpretation.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in relevant subject, with a strong academic record.
  • Experience conducting Phase 1 Habitat and / or UK Habitats Classification surveys.
  • Experience of writing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and / or protected species survey reports.
  • Experience of protected species surveys (e.g. bats, badger, GCN, otter, water vole, birds etc.).
  • Sound knowledge and practical application of UK environmental and wildlife legislation.
  • A full UK driving licence.
