Seasonal ecologists to provide temporary ecological clerk of works support to the wider ecology team. Largely site based, ability to travel and drive essential.

You will be working mostly in the field, alongside the construction team, tackling ecological issues as they arise, so flexibility, initiative and communication are essential. This role is fully supported by a senior team, who are on hand to help and advise.

This opportunity is not a one-way street as we will give you an exciting space in which to develop. You will be visible within our business, working with other ecology teams across the UK and providing you with the opening for your reputation to grow, allowing you to influence peers both internally and across the sector.

Candidate Specification

For this role you should have a strong combination of the following:

  • Relevant degree in ecology or directly related subject
  • Experience of protected species and/or botanical surveys
  • Relevant consultancy experience
  • Relevant experience connected with major infrastructure schemes
  • Report writing skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Must have a driving licence and when required be prepared to work/travel outside of normal working hours
  • If you have an EPS licence it would be highly desirable

Job Profile

Our environment team provides a wide range of specialist environmental support to internal and external clients and has an increasing workload across infrastructure and development sectors. Owing to continuous work on a large-scale utilities project in the Anglia region, we now have a need for a number of seasonal ecologists to join our team on fixed term contracts. Ideally you will be based in the Anglia area or willing to re-locate, for the 2021 season.

This role is to start working from April 2021.
