ERM are seeking a talented Principal Ecologist on a permanent staff basis. This is a great opportunity work across multiple areas, on UK and International projects. The role is mainly desk based, on a hybrid/remote basis, therefore offers a great work/life balance. Occasional travel to sites will be required.

A Principal Ecologist in the Renewables industry plays an essential role in ensuring that renewable energy projects are developed in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner. You’ll be assessing the environmental impacts of wind, solar, and battery storage projects, identifying potential risks and mitigation measures, and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met. These roles are critical in promoting ecological stewardship, enhancing biodiversity, and minimizing the environmental impact of Renewables projects.

If you’re passionate about biodiversity, are degree qualified in a related field, and have similar work experience within a consent-based consultancy then we’d love to hear from you! Renewables experience is not essential – just a passion for it! A full UK driving licence is essential, along with membership of a professional body such as CIEEM, or willingness to apply.
