RSK Biocensus part of RSK Group are an award winning CIEEM company, are recruiting a tenacious and passionate Principal Ecologist to join their growing UK ecology team. This role is permanent with full time & part time work patterns available. This role will be a hybrid role, with flexible homeworking and client site work.

We are looking for someone to work with clients in Hemel Hempstead, and the surrounding areas. As a Principal Ecologist at RSK Biocensus you can expect to get involved with the delivery of elements of field surveys, assessment, tender and report writing and project management, on various nationwide and local projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Principal Consultants have a key role within RSK Biocensus, winning work, providing leadership, technical advice and training, and leading by example. Self-motivated and proactive, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing major projects from commencement to completion and close-out.
  • You will develop client relationships to ensure tender opportunities come into the business, based on successful delivery of previous tenders and projects. You will undertake all work with an appropriate level of care and attention, compliant with RSK procedures and within agreed budgets and timescales
  • Providing leadership, direction and advice, acting at all times with professional integrity, and exercising sound professional judgment within (and recognising the limits of) your competence
  • Supporting others to uphold professional standards; acting as a role model
  • Developing your professional knowledge and skills; maintaining a personal CPD record and an up to date professional CV
  • Actively using the PDR process to set objectives for the year ahead that develop your skills and competencies in line with the team’s needs and your interests and aptitude

Person Specification

  • Degree in relevant discipline or vocational qualification
  • Relevant years experience within an ecological consultancy
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Species specific personal licences are desirable
  • Full membership with CIEEM is desirable
  • Abide by CIEEM’s Code of Professional Conduct.
