Neo Environmental, an award-winning and market leading planning and environmental consultancy, have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Ecologist to join our expanding team working on large projects in the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects across the UK and Ireland, with the main focus on renewable energy developments. Duties
• Support the growing ecology team on a wide variety of projects
• Aiding with and undertaking ecological surveys including:
• Phase 1 / Fossitt habitat survey and IVCs
• Protected species surveys
• Bat surveys
• Compiling survey results into comprehensive reports for planning
• Liaising with clients and statutory consultees
• Attending client and site meetings
• Undertaking ECoW role where required
• Helping with tender and Fee Proposal production
• Honours degree in Biology, Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences or any other relevant subject within this discipline
• A passion for ecology
• Be working towards, if not already, a membership of CIEEM (or equivalent), with a desire to work towards chartered status.
• Enthusiastic and ambitious
• Willingness and ability to work independently and in a growing team environment
• Full driving license
• Interest in Renewable Energy
• Own transport (or willing to source it once in the role)
• You must be eligible to work in the UK at the time you start employment

Desirable Criteria
• Experience using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software would be highly advantageous.
• Experience in ecological and protected species surveys, or other technical reports which demonstrate strong scientific writing abilities would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of the practical application of UK/Ireland wildlife legislation, planning policy and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
