We require an enthusiastic and talented Field Ecologist to join our team to help deliver our portfolio Ecological Clerk of Works projects on wind farm sites. These projects are located within around two hours of Glasgow. The position will be largely site based so you must love the great outdoors in all its splendour, and in all the elements. The position will involve providing our clients with ECoW support, and a mixture of lone and paired working will be required, so you must be resourceful and content to work alone.

The role will include:
• Ecology Surveys (including protected species and ECoW)
• Undertaking pre-construction baseline surveys
• Undertaking site inspections/audits to monitor the performance of construction works
• Reporting on compliance with consent conditions
• Liaising with statutory regulators on behalf of the client
• Providing guidance and advice to contractors and the client during the construction
• Input to weekly and monthly ECoW reports
• Data entry (Excel) and digitisation (QGIS)
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
• Degree or equivalent experience in an environmental field (Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Management)
• Experience of undertaking ecology field surveys or ECoW roles
• Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible and proactive approach to work
• Strong IT skills including, MS Word and Excel
• Valid UK driving licence (manual is essential)
• Willingness to travel and work away from home
• Willingness to support other disciplines within MacArthur Green (such as ecology, water quality monitoring and peat) when required
