Due to exciting project developments we are looking to recruit a consultant ecologist to join our ecology team.

Candidate and Role

The ideal candidate will be an experienced ecological consultant with a good level of commercial awareness and a track record of delivering ecological objectives for development projects. You will be undertaking field surveys for a range of ecological disciplines and managing projects with a high degree of technical skill and excellent client relationships. You will develop scopes of works with clients and colleagues and prepare fee proposals for projects in a wide variety of locations and technical disciplines. You will have a desire to develop new business. Additionally, you may provide a technical lead in your chosen specialism and use your experience to benefit the continuing development of the team. You will also have experience of bid management and business development.

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Attributes

Ecological consultancy experience in the UK
BSc / MSc in ecological discipline or equivalent
Excellent communicator
Calm and measured approach
Experience in a team management role
Experience of developing business with new and existing clients
At least one protected species licence (preferably bats or dormice)
Good understanding of UK habitats and vegetation types
Confident in the interpretation of survey data and guidelines to inform scopes of work
Full Member of CIEEM
Full clean driving licence and own transport
