Role Description

We are looking for ecology field surveyors to support our team for the 2025 field survey season. This is a contract Ecologist role based in Bristol with flexibility for remote work further afield. Applicants should have a scientific background and we’d love to hear from you if you’re a recent graduate or experienced ecologist. A selection day will be held in Bristol in February 2025.

As an Ecologist, you will be responsible for assisting with field work, report writing, botanical surveys and environmental impact assessments. The role involves a mix of on-site and remote work, allowing for a hybrid work environment. Freelance ecologists would support protected species and habitat surveys including evening surveys. Fixed-term ecologists will get experience in the office assisting with report writing and project management and in the field.

Full support will be provided by our senior team and a bespoke training plan to support your career path and development.

Following a selection day, we will invite successful candidates to join our team either on a fixed-term contract or on a freelance basis. For fixed-term roles, an interview will be held following the selection day.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Wildlife assessment, field work and botany skills.
  • Proficient in report writing and conducting environmental impact assessments.
  • Experience in ecological fieldwork and habitat surveys
  • Ability to work independently and manage project timelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of local flora and fauna.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.
