Overview

The role will routinely include leading UK Habitat Classification Surveys, Ecological Assessments, and Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments, including habitat condition assessments. The role will also require some protected species work.

The interview process will include an initial discussion with Lorna Roberts (Associate Director), followed by either a face-to-face interview or an interview via MS Teams. There will be a practical element to the interview.


REQUIREMENTS

  • A genuine and demonstrable enthusiasm for ecology and the environment.

  • Degree or equivalent in an ecology related discipline.

  • Demonstrable experience in botanical identification (experience equivalent to at least FISC level 4

  • Self-awareness

  • Experience of UK Habitat Classification Surveys

  • Experience of working with nature metrics, including the Statutory Biodiversity Metric

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Capable of working independently and flexibly, often outdoors, and including evening surveys

  • Full driving licence and use of a car

  • Member of CIEEM (or eligible)


DESIRABLES

  • Experience in writing a range of report types

  • Protected species survey experience

  • Experience with QGIS

  • Comfortable being client facing and networking

  • Project management experience

  • FISC level 4 certification, or equivalent
