Role Purpose:

Provide pragmatic support and advice to BBV teams and sub-contractors with delivering ecological requirements to programme and quality standard. This includes on-site surveys, inspections and watching briefs, providing practical advice on programme and on-site measures, and providing practical advice on legal requirements and HS2 requirements.

What you’ll be doing

  • Problem-solve, finding practical cost-effective solutions to ecological challenges facing BBV teams and sub-contractors.
  • Liaise with Design Joint Venture(DJV), Early Works Contractor (EWC), HS2 and stakeholders where required.
  • Compile reports and other documentation as required.
  • Develop and support implementation of ecological method statements and associated documents for construction.
  • Actively help deliver a culture of continual improvement of on-site ecological practice that is solution-orientated to support construction teams.
  • Investigate and report ecological incidents.

Who we’re looking for

  • Excellent knowledge of ecological management and mitigation
  • Educated to degree or Masters level in Ecological related subject
  • Excellent understanding of ecological legalisation for development
  • Full UK driver’s licence and flexibility to travel
  • Good understanding of environmental management for construction sites
  • Excellent understanding of the utilities/construction/engineering operating environment
  • Literate in MS Office  Word, Excel, Outlook & GIS
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • CIEEM Membership or equivalent
  • Experience of working on large scale infrastructure construction/highways projects
