JFA Environmental Planning are seeking an Ecologist to assist with our work in the south-east of England. We work on a wide range of projects where we are integrating nature into our project design and implementing innovative solutions.  This role would be ideal for a candidate who has graduated with an Ecology/Environmental degree within the last two years, professional experience would be desirable.

The successful candidate will join a small team of highly talented, motivated, and hard-working ecologists and landscape architects.  The working environment is lively, energetic, collaborative and demanding at times.  Applicants should enjoy stretching themselves professionally and should welcome the opportunity to think innovatively and to solve unique problems.  The successful candidate will be a good lateral thinker, creative, and flexible.

Key skills required are an ability to communicate face-to-face with a wide variety of people.  The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to write effectively and to respond to clients in a positive manner.  Candidates must have a strong understanding of ecological and scientific principles.

The position is based in our Ashford office in Kent, with the flexibility of home working at times. The role will entail a wide range of task including assisting with site visits, field surveys, translocations, supervision of contractors, desk studies and report writing. At times there will be a requirement for unsociable hours during the week. A full clean UK driving licence is essential.
