Contract Type: Permanent

As one of the leading ecological consultancy companies in the UK, Middlemarch Environmental specialises in delivering Value in Nature.  We offer client-focused, cost effective advice and expertise on all ecological issues that occur during the planning and development process, with an increasing focus on the design and delivery of biodiversity net gain.

Currently we have over 60 professional ecologists and support staff. As might be expected in a young company, there is considerable potential for personal development within the organisation, and continuing growth is planned over the next five years. The Ecological Project Officer role will be based at one of our offices in Coventry/London/Kent or Worcester.

As an Ecological Project Officer you will support the Ecology Team by carrying out fieldwork and writing reports. This role gives a significant opportunity to develop the fieldcraft and general consultancy skills that are becoming ever more important in our sector. Furthermore, Project Officer candidates have the potential to enrol as one of our Management Trainees, a highly successful staff development programme that we have been running since 2015.

As well as a competitive salary, Middlemarch Environmental offers a performance-related bonus scheme whereby it is possible to boost your remuneration.

Holding personal protected species licences such as great crested newt and bat licences together with experience in preparing European Protected Species licence applications would be advantageous, but is not essential at this level as training will be provided.
