Overview

Do you want to work for one of the UK’s leading, award winning, ecological and arboricultural consultancies? Due to recent expansion and further planned strategic growth within the company, Middlemarch Environmental are currently recruiting for roles to meet our growing client needs throughout the country and to engage with the emerging biodiversity agenda.

Middlemarch Environmental provides client focused, cost effective advice and expertise on all ecological and arboricultural issues that occur during the planning and development process. The company was set up in 1989 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, which is itself part of The Wildlife Trusts, the largest voluntary organisation in the UK concerned with all aspects of nature conservation and the environment.

The Role

As a key member of our Ecology Team you will undertake a wide variety of ecological field surveys and works supervision in line with your skills and experience. In particular, you will be proficient in Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys/Preliminary Ecological Assessments aided by your good botanical identification skills. With support from our team, you will make sound and pragmatic assessments and ensure that advice and recommendations are communicated effectively through the writing of high-quality survey and mitigation reports and through excellent verbal communication.

As part of our South-west team, you will be home-based, ideally within the Worcester region, although applications will be considered from suitable candidates within the south-west. Alternatively, we are seeking ecologists based at our main office in Coventry. In either case, you will be part of a supportive and friendly team with opportunities to rapidly grow your skills and experience.

Due to the nature of the work, you will need to be prepared to work flexible and unsociable hours, for which overtime and / or time off in lieu will be available. The package will include a competitive salary (dependent on experience and skills) with the potential for performance related rewards depending upon company performance and a company pension. In addition, we will provide you with training and learning opportunities and support you in your continuing professional development.
