Overview

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Consultant or Senior Ecologist to join our passionate, dynamic and friendly team in either our Cheltenham or Cirencester office.

The Role

Benefiting from working in a multidisciplinary consultancy team, you will provide sound ecological advice and project support to Project Managers across a range of projects which vary in size, types and complexities.

You will be positive, proactive and solution focussed, have demonstrable experience of environmental consultancy, and be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment. You will be effective at working on your own and as part of a 30+ strong ecology team located across our three offices.

We’re an equal opportunities employer, so we’re delighted to offer family friendly and flexible working arrangements which can include a mix of office and home working.

Your Skills

Of course, we’ll need you to have all the right qualifications and experience – excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. But to enjoy your time at EDP, you’ll also need to be personable, passionate, and proactive. We’re a friendly bunch but we do work hard.

We are keen to appoint a bat licensed ecologist with experience in licensing and mitigation and are particularly interested in applicants with tree climbing skills. In addition, you will have a good working knowledge of ecology, environmental legislation and survey techniques, hold a relevant degree and have or be eligible for CIEEM membership.

A full, valid UK driving licence is essential, with access to a vehicle for business use preferred.

Learning and Development

We’ll always invest in our people and have excellent learning and development opportunities for all our team members. This includes an extensive internal training programme to expand knowledge of our multi-disciplinary projects and roles within these. So, you can be confident you’ll grow and develop both personally and professionally when you join us.

EDP Benefits

The salary for this post is to be agreed based on qualifications and experience and will form part of an excellent benefits package, including 5% employer pension contributions; private health insurance; life assurance; 30 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays and birthday holiday); TOIL system; hybrid and flexible working, a profit share bonus scheme; carbon offsetting for every employee; and many more!
