Overview

Wild Frontier Ecology Ltd is an established consultancy based in Norfolk. We are a busy, broad-based practice, with experience in most areas of professional ecological consultancy.

We are seeking one or more assistant ecologists for the 2020 spring and summer survey season. There will be both field and office elements to the job, which is often varied and fast-moving. Successful candidates will gain substantial experience in bat and great crested newt surveys and subsequent analysis. Survey work will frequently involve late evenings and occasional early mornings.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate with a suitable degree. Some demonstrable experience with protected species surveys will be an advantage, as will any grade of CIEEM membership. Also of importance will be the ability to work flexibly as part of a team, and good personal organisation. Candidates will have some knowledge of UK legislation and guidance for protected species and habitats, and will be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment.

A full driving licence will be required, and having your own transport to and from the office will be necessary due to the rural office location.

Salary will be £18K pro rata. Employment period will be until September / October 2020 with possible extension. The post(s) will be based at our office in north Norfolk but with survey work across Norfolk and much of East Anglia.

To apply, send a full CV and covering letter to liz@wildfrontier-ecology.co.uk.

Closing date: Weds 18th March 2020.
