Overview
Luscinia Ecology is seeking a full-time or part-time Assistant Ecologist to join our team. Established in April 2022, we’ve had strong performance and growth over the last four survey seasons.
The emphasis on the role will be to develop skills and experience in ecological consultancy, and we’ll support this aim from the outset of employment. The role will routinely include supporting the ecology team during survey and office work, including protected species surveys, data handling, and data analysis.
Requirements
Essential:
- A genuine and demonstrable enthusiasm for ecology and the environment
- Degree or equivalent in an ecology related discipline
- A proactive approach to work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of working flexibly and outdoors, including evening surveys
- Full driving licence and use of a car
Desirable:
- A working knowledge of current and evolving wildlife policy and legislation
- Experience in one or more protected species survey methods
- Experience writing technical reports
- Experience with QGIS
- Member of CIEEM (or eligible)
