Bowland Ecology is a well-established and thriving ecological consultancy. We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented aquatic ecology and entomology team in our lab at the Sci-Tech Daresbury Campus. You can expect:
- Salary range 26-35K+ depending on experience

Scope of role:
- Laboratory analysis of biological samples, including aquatic invertebrates to at least family-level. Scope to identify terrestrial groups where applicable
- Seasonal field based ecological, invertebrate, water quality, macrophyte, and/or fisheries survey work
- Interpretation of field and laboratory data to report findings
- Manage own projects (including tenders/fee proposals and client liaison)
- Production of ecology reports
- Supervision of junior staff
Successful Candidates will have:
- Relevant degree level qualification
- Membership of CIEEM or equivalent
- Technical expertise in aquatic ecology, particularly invertebrate identification to at least family level
- Excellent communication, team working project and time management skills
- ‘Hands on’ approach, initiative and self-motivation
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to write clear and concise reports
- Current and full driving licence
- Enthusiasm, confidence and a passion for Ecology and Entomology
Desirable:
- FBA Accredited identification skills
- Species-level aquatic invertebrate identification skills
- Knowledge and experience of terrestrial invertebrate survey methods and identification, with specialist group interest
