Overview

To manage a range of environment, sustainability and climate change related projects, either in support of a wider team or as the Project Manager.

 

To develop business in the fields of ecology, environmental management and assessment, sustainability and climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Role

·         To provide core ecology specific input for a broad range of projects, both within the QLD Group’s sustainability team and for multi-disciplinary projects undertaken in the office/region

·         To be involved in business development for ecology related work and consultancy services in the group

·         To prepare submissions to clients outlining the ecology related aspects of projects and the associated capability within the QLD office sustainability team

·         To prepare project reports for clients summarising ecological and environmental outcomes and strategically advising on best outcomes

·         To develop and train less-experienced ecology professionals within the sustainability team in both general principals and techniques, as well as specific ecologist capability

·         To liaise with other office discipline groups on such project related matters

·         To review similar projects undertaken by other Arup offices within Australia

·         To provide input into Arup global skills networks within the ecology field

·         To advise the leader, sustainability team on issues relating to the growth and development of the ecology component of the sustainability business in the QLD marketplace

·         To work under minimal supervision within a defined area of responsibility.  This may include being responsible for specific parts of an external design project.

·         To check the quality and accuracy of own and others work.  Furthermore, you may be responsible for the development of others through providing guidance, training and feedback.  To represent your team or group at external meetings and you may be involved in developing events, activities and internal projects of some complexity.
