The Role

We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable Seasonal Ecologists to support a wide range of field surveys and reporting during the 2025 survey season. This is a great opportunity for graduates or early-career ecologists seeking hands-on experience and development within a supportive consultancy environment. You’ll work closely with our permanent ecology team on a variety of survey types, including: Extended Phase 1 Habitat / UKHab surveys Bat activity and emergence/re-entry surveys Great crested newt surveys (eDNA and HSI assessments) Reptile, badger, and other protected species surveys Water vole and otter surveys Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and baseline reporting support

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Some prior fieldwork experience (voluntary or paid)
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and early mornings
  • A basic understanding of UK ecology and relevant legislation
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car is highly desirable
  • Desirable Skills: CIEEM membership (student or qualifying)
  • Familiarity with QGIS or similar mapping software
  • Experience with protected species survey techniques
  • CSCS card or willingness to obtain
