Overview
We are looking for a driven Senior Ecologist to lead ecological impact assessments, manage exciting projects, and help mentor our talented junior team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver ecological projects (PEA, EIA, and specialized protected species surveys).
- Lead client communications, consultations, and stakeholder management.
- Design and implement mitigation strategies and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
- Supervise field surveys and act as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) when required.
- Write and review high-quality technical reports and EPS license applications.
- Mentor junior and assistant ecologists to support their professional growth.
What We Are Looking For:
- Substantial ecological consultancy experience at a senior level.
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- CIEEM membership (or eligibility for it).
- Natural England (or equivalent) protected species licences (e.g., bats, great crested newts) are highly advantageous.
- Strong project management, risk assessment, and technical report-writing abilities.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for pragmatic conservation.
