Overview

We are looking for a driven Senior Ecologist to lead ecological impact assessments, manage exciting projects, and help mentor our talented junior team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver ecological projects (PEA, EIA, and specialized protected species surveys).
  • Lead client communications, consultations, and stakeholder management.
  • Design and implement mitigation strategies and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
  • Supervise field surveys and act as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) when required.
  • Write and review high-quality technical reports and EPS license applications.
  • Mentor junior and assistant ecologists to support their professional growth.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Substantial ecological consultancy experience at a senior level.
  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • CIEEM membership (or eligibility for it).
  • Natural England (or equivalent) protected species licences (e.g., bats, great crested newts) are highly advantageous.
  • Strong project management, risk assessment, and technical report-writing abilities.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for pragmatic conservation.
