As an Ecologist, you’ll have the chance to make a real difference. Your expertise will directly influence development proposals, our long‑term planning policies and biodiversity with the County Borough. You can be creative in solving ecological and planning challenges to help us deliver sustainable growth without compromising environmental value.
In this role you will support a Senior Ecologist advising Development Management Officers about developments affecting ecology, promoting biodiversity, and supporting the preparation of planning policy and guidance. The role will also involve consultation and liaison with other Council departments, applicants, agents and other external organisations.
About You
To be considered for the role, a relevant degree or equivalent, and membership of a professional body is desirable, but it’s essential to have identification and survey skills and experience, and knowledge of relevant environmental legislation as well as hold a valid driving license. Experience in planning and possession of protected species licences also desirable.
This Role allows for a combination of home and office working. You will also be required to undertake site visits.
