SLR is a global environmental consultancy with a mission to Make Sustainability Happen. Our UK Ecology team is over 210 fantastic staff, and still growing. Our expert ecologists work on a diverse range projects such as renewables sites and housing developments, and with rapid growth expected in the Ecology and Biodiversity sector we have a need for a Resourcing Coordinator in Scotland to support our Ecology Resourcing Manager.
Our work covers the whole of the UK, supporting a range of different clients. This role is essential ensuring the Ecology team have clearly understood, well planned and balanced workloads, helping the team thrive in their roles. It also plays a part in strategic planning for the future. Not only will it be a pivotal role in the Ecology team, but will be involved in the smooth interaction between SLR’s Ecology team, and other teams such as Planning, Hydrology and Environmental Impact Assessment. Although we cover the whole of the UK, this role will be focussed on Scotland as a region.
About the role
In this varied and exciting role you will take on a range of tasks and responsibilities including:
- Maintenance of the Scotland Resource Planner document (Excel), ensuring it is accurate and up to date with current and planned workloads
- Survey planning and scheduling in collaboration with Project Managers and in accordance with the project budget
- Liaising with team members about availability, and keeping track of resolving work requests to ensure that all resourcing elements are completed
- Contribute collaboratively as a member of the Resourcing team, inputting thoughtfully and creatively at regular catch ups to help each other solve resourcing problems
- Ad-hoc support to Scotland Equipment Managers to effectively manage ecology equipment, ensuring the equipment tracker is used properly and kept up to date
- Ad-hoc support to the Ecology Resourcing Manager where support may be needed in other Regions from time to time
- Day to day support to the Regional Manager for Scotland, assisting with smooth running of the weekly team meeting, and leading the weekly prospects and proposals meeting
- Developing an understanding of potential future work, providing insights into resource planning and strategic hiring
- Collaboration on developing our team’s tools and systems
- Producing management reports from our Enterprise Resource Planning system, Deltek Vantagepoint

About you
You’re organised, self-motivated and ready to learn! We’re looking for an adaptable individual who’s able to and happy to support with day-to-day resourcing of the team, as well as to think creatively and be an active part of developing great resourcing solutions, improving our resourcing offering. You’re calm in a fast-paced work environment and comfortable to be in the middle of many different work plans.
Essential skills:
- IT proficiency is a must-have. Excel in particular, and you must be comfortable using different types of software to improve and streamline our work
- Administrative and organisational skills: Proven skills in organising and prioritising multiple, overlapping tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills: This role is about organising, and it’s organising humans! So being great with people is a must
- Experience of working on projects in some capacity, be it resourcing, project assistance or management
Desirable skills and attributes:
- Project administration / project coordination. All our work is project based, so any understanding of the project management process will be beneficial
- Understanding of ecology and / or the UK Planning system

Qualifications:
- Educated to degree lev and/ or demonstrable commercial/consultancy experience in a similar role
