Overview

The Biodiversity Recording and Monitoring Centre (BRMC) is the Local Environmental Records Centre for Bedfordshire & Luton. We collect, collate and manage information about the natural environment across the county. We are looking for someone with proven IT skills to maintain and develop our main databases and spatial information systems to provide efficient access to biodiversity information locally, and explore new software and technology to provide new ways of delivering the BRMC’s core aims.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team working with local naturalists and a wide range of partners. You will need to be flexible and adaptable to change with experience in working with databases, web applications, programming and Geographical Information Systems, and have high regard for the integrity of data throughout our systems and processes. You will be able to demonstrate a personal commitment to biodiversity conservation, be highly motivated with a keen eye for detail, taking pride in the work you produce. There will be an opportunity for consultation and handover from the present Biodiversity Network Officer.
