The company is seeking to recruit an Assistant Environmental Scientist/Consultant to join its EIAR/Environmental team and meet the increasing demand for the company’s services. The successful candidate will be working on projects in the wind energy, renewables, waste-to-energy, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, previous experience on large-scale projects in these sectors will be an advantage to prospective candidates. The position available will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects utilising the various skills they may have acquired through formal training, personal interest and previous work experience.

The successful candidate would be expected to:

Work as part of the EIAR/Environmental team to deliver project requirements;
Act as Environmental Clerk of Works (ECoW) during the construction phases of projects including wind energy projects
Manage small and medium scale projects from inception to completion;
Have a high level of project management and report writing skills, highlighting any specialist environmental expertise in their application;
Have an in-depth knowledge of a broad range of environmental issues, fundamental to the preparation of high-quality, environmental impact statements and ensuring compliance with environmental conditions and mitigation measures.
The key responsibilities associated with the role will include:

Environmental fieldwork and reporting
Fulfil ECoW role as required.
Preparing, compiling and contributing to EISs being produced by the company’s EIAR/Environmental team;
Mapping using GIS
Undertaking background research, desk studies and fieldwork and impact assessment reporting, under standard EIA subject headings;
Efficiently managing interactions with project team members and sub-consultants;
Delivering necessary project outputs within set deadlines.
Prospective candidates will be expected to have excellent report writing skills, be well organised with meticulous attention to detail while also being able to manage a varied and full workload.

The successful candidates will have a minimum of two years’ post-graduate experience in the area of environmental fieldwork, environmental impact assessment and project management, ideally in a consultancy environment;
