An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Senior Ecologist to join an award-winning ecological consultancy at their Oxford office. Our client are a leading consultancy with offices across the UK; large enough to boast an enviable list of clients, but small enough to provide a personal tailored approach. Your daily responsibilities as Senior Ecologist may include:

  • Planning and undertaking a range of ecological surveys, assessments and mitigation works.
  • Analysing survey data and writing high-quality ecological reports.
  • Project management and liaising with clients and contractors.
  • Preparing licence applications and similar documents.
  • Line management and engagement in business development strategies.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A degree in Ecology (or a related subject) and at least 4 years’ experience in ecological consultancy.
  • At least 1 protected species survey licence; candidates with a technical specialism will also be at an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a strong track record of preparing ecological reports.
  • Varied project management experience and the confidence to liaise directly with clients.
  • Excellent technical skills and demonstrable knowledge or relevant wildlife legislation and the planning system.
  • CIEEM membership (or eligible).
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
