We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Seasonal Ecologists to assist the EDP Ecology Team over the 2021 ecology survey season. Positions are anticipated to last for a minimum of 6 months commencing 1st April to 30 September, during which time you will be based out of one of our three offices in Cardiff, Cheltenham and Cirencester. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn and further develop your ecology survey and consultancy skills, working alongside our talented ecology team.
Your primary role will be to assist the wider EDP Ecology Team in undertaking habitat and protected species surveys, providing Clerk of Works support, and assisting with data input, analysis, research and report writing. During this time, you will be supervised and supported by a strong team of expert ecologists, enabling you to gain valuable training and experience of survey methodologies, mitigation and best practice techniques required by the professional consultancy industry.
Your role will involve you travelling to various sites across the country; as such, a full, clean driving licence and access to your own car for business use is essential. You will have a relevant first degree and a good understanding of ecology and wildlife legislation, and be proficient using MS Office. Applicants with previous experience of protected species surveys and/or NE/NRW licences are highly desirable.
In addition, you will be organised, personable, be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team and have good written and verbal communication skills. In return, EDP offers an attractive salary and benefits package, with excellent on-the-job training and support for future career progression.
To apply, please email your CV and a covering letter to Sarah Smith (email@example.com) stating ‘Seasonal Ecologist’ in the subject field. Please also state your office location preference should you have one and where you saw this advertisement.
Interviews will be held at the earliest opportunity in 2021 for strong candidates.
