Overview

We are looking for seasonal ecologists to support our project commitments on a range of contract types.  We are especially interested in recruiting experienced field survey leads, bat specialists, water vole specialists, botanists and ornithologists in particular, and would be keen to offer fixed term full-time or part-time roles to the right candidates.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the national team of ecologists working on a variety of projects
  • Survey support and logistic planning
  • Ecological surveying and biological data collection
  • Producing quality assured ecology deliverables
  • Report Writing

Here’s what you’ll need:

Qualifications – External

  • An honours degree in Ecology or similar
  • Experience in ecology surveys and as a field scientist
  • Eligibility for CIEEM membership
  • Capable of managing a challenging workload subject to change at short notice
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports
  • You must be a good team player with a willingness to work away from your base office.
  • Willingness to work unsocial hours in the outdoors, during all weathers (All PPE will be provided)

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have: 

  • Driving license (please specify on your CV)
  • Relevant undergraduate work placements, post graduate studies or volunteering experience
  • Understanding of relevant UK legislation
  • Understanding of GIS or basic ability using ArcGIS
  • A first aid qualification
  • Full CIEEM membership
  • Postgraduate degree
  • Protected species licence(s)
  • An ecological specialism
  • Chartered Environmentalist
  • ECoW experience

Additional Information
