RSK’s ecology team are recognised for their work on large international and national linear schemes particularly in the Oil, Gas, Renewables and Rail sectors.

Whilst UK based, our team regularly support multi-national clients across the globe.  There is flexibility on your primary work location, with our larger ecology teams located in Bristol, Glasgow, Cheshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and the Midlands.

We are recruiting senior/principal ecologists to work on high-profile schemes in both planning and construction phases. Candidates should have experience of surveying for protected habitats and species and designing/implementing mitigation strategies.

Our ecologists work as a close-knit team with a strong focus on sharing expertise through training and professional development and encouraging specialism’s such as aquatic ecology, ornithology and botany.  Successful candidates will join a supportive team that includes NE bat trainers, BSBI county-recorders, university lecturers and directors/trustees of nature conservation charities.

Ecologists – Senior/Principal – UK Wide – Bristol, Coventry, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Glasgow, Cheshire

As an ecologist at RSK you can expect to get involved with all elements of project management.  Some of the key responsibilities will include:

·       Co-ordinating and undertaking Phase 1 habitat and protected species surveys

·       Designing and implementing mitigation strategies

·       Financial management of projects

·       Production of tenders and reports

·       Project management, report writing and delivery

·       Managing and mentoring junior members of the team

Person specification

·       At least three years relevant experience or proven, previous experience in a similar role

·       Relevant degree in ecology or related field

·       Protected species licences, ideally Great Crested Newt and Bats (advantageous)

·       Good team player, with the ability to work independently

·       Enthusiasm, energy and drive to develop skills and deliver projects to the highest standard

·       Excellent report writing skills, including survey reports, EcIAs, HRAs, protected species licence applications and tenders.

·       Full driving licence

·       Full membership of CIEEM (or to have eligibility if not currently held)

Salary and benefits:

·         £negotiable, depending on experience
