Position

Do you have an understanding of GIS and want to apply that to some of the UK’s leading work in the environmental sector? Are you self-motivated, organised, with excellent communication, project and data management skills? If so, then we would be delighted to hear from you!

We have the opportunity for a Graduate GIS Specialist to join our dynamic team of GIS specialists, providing GIS support to both internal and external clients across our business. The successful candidate will support the team in delivering all aspects of Ecological mapping, data management and spatial analysis to Thomson’s varied projects. You’ll work closely with experienced technical specialists across the GIS team and the wider business, and enjoy opportunities for learning and professional development.

This is a full-time, permanent role, with an office/home-working split based on team and business needs. Ideally you’ll be a commutable distance from our Guildford Head Office but other locations may be considered.

Requirements

Successful candidates must

  • have a degree or postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in GIS or a related subject
  • have experience using ESRI ArcGIS
  • have a strong interest in GIS and Ecology
  • hold strong planning and organisation skills with proven ability to multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously
  • have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • have an enthusiastic, flexible, can-do attitude; and desire for learning and development
