Overview

Due to an increasing workload, ESL require TWO experienced ecologists to join our busy practice. The main duties would be to undertake habitat and protected species surveys and to produce concise, well written and objective reports. The successful candidates will be used to working in a team and also on their own initiative. The ability to meet project deadlines is essential. Whilst we would especially welcome applications from candidates with a CV weighted towards bat work who wish to develop their skills in this area further, we also advise other candidates with strong skill sets to apply. In addition to a competitive salary, the successful candidates would be invited to join the company pension scheme.

Candidates should ideally possess:

• A minimum of 3 years in ecological consultancy,
• Full or Associate membership of CIEEM,
• Natural England bat and/or great crested newt survey licence,
• Phase-1 Habitat Survey competency,
• Good ID skills for birds and higher plants,
• Excellent written and spoken English and report writing skills,
• Excellent working knowledge of UK and EU wildlife and planning legislation and best practice guidelines.
• Proficiency in standard IT applications, including MS Word, Excel and e-mail.
• A full UK driving licence
