Overview

We are looking to recruit a new member into our Ecology Team to join us at our Shrewsbury office, assisting the team in all areas of ecology and consultancy work. This post, in a growing office, affords the successful candidate not only the exciting opportunity to develop and advance their existing skill set, but offers a diversity of experience encompassing not only Ecology, but also aspects of Arboriculture, Landscape, Heritage and Masterplanning.

Working closely with the existing Ecology team based at EDP Shrewsbury, we are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, and competent Ecologist with a relevant first degree, and preferably a post-graduate qualification. Proven consultancy experience spanning at least 2-5 years is essential, including experience of undertaking Extended Phase 1 surveys and protected species surveys such as for great crested newt, dormouse and bats. Ideally you will be a holder of a protected species survey licence(s), have experience in habitat management and clerk of works role, and have, or be eligible for, at least Associate membership to CIEEM. You will also have Environmental Impact Assessment experience and some practical knowledge of fee proposals, seeking in particular to build upon your ecological project management and technical skills.

Additionally, you will be licensed to drive in the UK and have access to a suitably insured vehicle for fieldwork/business purposes.
