Bernwood is looking to appoint an assistant/graduate ecologist to join our small but very successful business in Swanbourne, Buckinghamshire.

Unfortunately, due to the quantity of night work we undertake during the spring, summer and autumn months we can only consider applications from those currently living or willing to live within a 30-45 minutes drive from the office (just outside Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire).

The Job:

A full time seasonal contract with the possibility of extension for the right person
A competitive salary commensurate with experience and skills
One-to-one training on protected species surveys, ecological report writing and support for professional development
Opportunities to carry out and assist with advanced survey techniques for protected species, including bats
Opportunities to advance your liaison skills with clients and private landowners

Essential Skills:

A degree in a relevant discipline
A willingness to work anti-social hours
A clean driving license and own/regular use of a car
Good interpersonal skills
Competent in an office environment using basic IT
Enthusiastic and self motivated

Desirable Skills:

Experience in habitat / protected species surveys
Holder of a protected species license
Have experience in an ecological consultancy environment
Member of CIEEM or equivalent
Understanding on UK and EU wildlife and planning legislation
