Acorn Ecology Ltd are looking for seasonal Assistant Ecologists to join our friendly and experienced team in Bristol for the summer months (May to September).

Acorn Ecology is expanding and we are now looking for seasonal Assistant Ecologists to join our small team in Bristol on a temporary basis. You will enjoy the support of an established and highly skilled team who are passionate about wildlife.

We offer an attractive package of salary together with staff training and career development. You must be willing to work unsocial hours and potentially stay away from home on occasions for site work. There is potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Desired experience

* Recent or previous experience in ecological consultancy or wildlife charity (Essential)

* Attendance of training courses relevant to ecology (Essential)

* Ecological survey experience including Phase 1, botanical, bats, GCN, badgers,  reptiles and dormouse (Desirable)

* Bat licence, great crested newt licence or dormouse licence (Desirable)

Person specification

* Relevant degree in ecology or related field (Essential)

*  Full driving licence and use of a car (Essential)

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Essential)

* Good IT skills (Essential)

* Good organisational abilities (Essential)

* Self reliant, confident, enthusiastic, committed, team player who works at a high standard, sense of humour (Essential)

* Reptile and Amphibian ID skills (Essential)

* Botany ID Skills, basic level (Essential)

* Understanding of Bat ID skills, basic level (Essential)

* Relevant masters degree in ecology or related field (Desirable)

* Graduate member of CIEEM or equivalent (Desirable)

* A knowledgeable all-round naturalist (Desirable)

* CSCS card (Desirable)

Salary and benefits:
